Looking for a bilingual daycare in Switzerland? The ipso! International School in Rheinfelden near Basel offers an English-German Early Learning Center for young children. Our international daycare combines play-based learning, small groups and a globally recognised educational approach – ideal for expat and local families.
Bilingual Daycare Rheinfelden – the right choice for your child
We offer a bilingual daycare (Early Learning Center) for children aged 1.5 to 4 years. In our bilingual daycare, we speak English and German (as in our kindergarten and school). Children with no prior knowledge of either language are also very welcome.
Depending on your professional situation and personal needs, we offer full-time or part-time daycare options. Part-time care includes a minimum of five mornings (07.30–14.00) or two full days (07.30–18.00) plus one morning (07.30–14.00) per week.
Our highly playful, early childhood, individual and multilingual approach is based on the educational concept of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) for children aged 3 to 12. As an accredited IB World School, we lay strong, age-appropriate foundations.
Thanks to small class sizes of a maximum of 12 children with two experienced teachers, we can respond to each child’s individual development stages, talents and abilities. We place great importance on a caring, family-like learning and play environment. A trusting relationship between children and teachers, as well as regular communication with parents, is particularly important to us. We also focus on developing bilingual language skills and increasing children’s independence. All children are encouraged to ask questions and learn through exploration so they can grow into independent, curious and respectful individuals.
Daily routines in our bilingual daycare in Rheinfelden (Aargau, near Basel) include bilingual singing, movement songs, use of small instruments, storytelling, role play and age-appropriate creative activities such as crafts and painting. Free play in the garden and green areas of Rheinfelden, excursions to the forest, exciting day trips and participation in school performances are additional highlights of a typical day at ipso! International School.

Enrolment information
It is important to us that parents and children visit the daycare/school at least once for a personal consultation with the school management before enrolling.
For each child, we aim to find the best possible solution for education, care and development. We assess whether the bilingual concept is suitable for your child and whether a place is available. If possible, we also recommend a trial visit, which can last up to one week depending on the child’s age. During this time, your child gets to know the teachers and classmates personally.
Entry into the bilingual daycare usually takes place in August and February, but enrolment is possible at any time by arrangement with the school management.
